For demonstration and testing concerning the potentials and influences, a cross-national validation setup was implemented between KIT in Germany and Tongji University in China. Therefor a driving simulator from Tongji was connected with a test bench at KIT via internet (and vice versa). Thus the Chinese driver directly interacts with the drivetrain represented on the test bench at KIT in Germany. This opens up the chance of validating a system under conditions of the target market in early stages of the development process.
Thanks to the close cooperation of all the Chinese and German partners, first resulcts of a membrane electrode assembly could be presented at the workshop in November 2014 in Beijing. This test cell was assembled from the individual components of all project partners and successfully outperformed the milestone set for the desired geometric power density.
The paper 'Energy Optimization for Real-Time Multiprocessor System-on-Chip with Optimal DVFS and DPM Combination' by Gang Chen, Kai Huang, and Alois Knoll won the BEST PAPER AWARD at the 11th IEEE Symposium on Embedded Systems for Real-Time Multimedia.
